When hiring an attorney one should always remain skeptical. Remember, the lawyer is selling a product: his or her services. Some lawyers tend to present very rosy scenarios when first meeting with a client. If you hear something like, “we’ll beat this for sure,” or “I’ve never lost one of these cases,” run for the hills. The overly optimistic lawyer will soon give you the bad news about your case after your check has been cashed. Remember almost any case can be won, but conversely, almost any case can be lost. What you need first is an honest evaluation based on the facts available at that moment. |
